Student Equity Planning Institute (SEPI)

The Student Equity Project Initiative (SEPI) began as a grassroots effort by the Region 9 Student Equity leaders and has evolved into a dynamic three-year professional learning series supporting California community colleges in advancing racial equity through every stage of Guided Pathways implementation.

Through needs-based institutes, personalized coaching, and community collaboration, SEPI helps college teams co-create actionable equity plans that are both data-informed and human-centered. Led in partnership with Dr. Eric Felix, the CCHALES Collaborative, the R9 Student Equity Leaders Network, and the Guided Pathways Regional Coordinators, SEPI empowers educators to make sense of—and make progress toward—systemic equity and lasting institutional change.
